IIGCC membership is open to asset owners, asset managers and financial service providers such as investment consultants and investment banks, subject to approval by IIGCC's board. Joining signifies support of IIGCC's strategic objectives:

To change market signals by encouraging the adoption of strong and credible public policy solutions that ensure an orderly and efficient move to a low carbon economy

To inform investment practices by promoting the exchange of expertise amongst asset owners and managers to preserve and enhance long-term investment values 

Become a member of IIGCC to increase:

1. Awareness: To raise awareness of the financial risks and investment opportunities as a result of climate change and climate policy
2. Understanding: To gain a better understanding of how to assess and manage risks and integrate opportunities associated with climate change into investment practices and decision-making
3. Collective Influence:  Send common messages to policymakers to provide policy frameworks that meet investor needs and strengthen the role of private finance in solving the climate challenge
4. Disclosure:  Collaborate on improved and standardised corporate disclosure and encouraging improved performance on climate change for different assets
5. Action:  Demonstrate commitment on climate change and participate in networking and information sharing
